On behalf of GODOM, the Study Group on Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases of the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (SPEDM), we would like to share our national awareness campaign marking World Osteoporosis Day, celebrated annually on 20 October. GODOM promotes knowledge, research and public awareness of osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. Through this campaign, we aim to raise awareness of osteoporosis as a frequently silent condition, promote lifelong bone health, encourage prevention, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, and recognise the important role of patients, families, healthcare professionals and organisations working in this field. As part of the campaign, communication materials were developed and disseminated through Portuguese healthcare institutions and digital channels, helping to bring this important public health message to a wider audience.
